Daniel SIMON Gallery - wood and stone sculptures - creations

This site presents my work from 1984 to today. You can see it from the sculptures gallery ; they are all original creations made direct cutting with wood or stone. Because of personal reasons, I essentially work with wood ; stone is today too physical to work.

Course / formation

Born in MOLSHEIM (67), 1952. Living in Saint-Louis (68) since 1977.

Learned with Raymond KELLER, sculptor master wood - stone, from 1966 to 1970. Qualified 'Brevet de compagnon', STRASBOURG, 1970. Worked in KELLER's company from 1970 to 1977 as wood - stone sculptor.

Worked in Germany in 'LEONHARD EDER Bildhauerwerkstätte' from 1977 to 1979.

From 1980 to 2002, many jobs as sculptor in Switzerland ( BIBERSTEIN - HOLINGER AG, Walter Straub, ... ).

Many personal exhibitions in Switzerland, Germany, France.

Artistic approach

Figurative, abstract, when I fell inspired... I especially like direct cut, feeling free to let imagination drive my hands, like a jazzman.
